At Selma University, the safety and well-being of our faculty, staff, students and visitors are always priority. In order for the campus to be truly safe, everyone must cooperate together to make it so. This information is a part of our effort to ensure that this collaborative endeavor is effective. It is the mission of Campus Security to keep everyone safe and support the Academic Activities which occur on this campus.
When Campus Security is notified of Criminal Activity, request for assistance, or any type of emergency situation, members of the security will quickly respond to the situation without delay.
Philosophy Selma University believes that it is better to do all you can do to Prevent a Crime, than have to deal with a situation after a crime has been committed.

In case of an emergency all teachers and staff members will be notified through email and all students will be informed through either a teacher or staff member.
All Campus Security offices are licensed as security officers and recognized by Selma Police Department of Selma, Alabama.
New Student Orientation
A Campus Security Presentation is done during the student orientation, by the Chief of Security each semester. Crime Prevention information is printed in the student handbook and information about Crime Prevention is distributed periodically.
Reporting Criminal Activity/ Emergencies
When life-threaten situation arise, dial 911(Selma Police Dept.) from any campus telephone for outside Police or Emergency Medical Assistance. Notify Campus Security at 334-875-0002 as soon as possible so that immediate action can be taken to remedy the situation. All crime on campus will be reported to the Selma Police Department.
